Rear extension of the property demolished to leave original front of property.
Restored original front of property in recognition of the period of the house.
Added single storey extension on the back with garage and swimming pool.
On recommendation from a friend, we engaged Michael Atkinson of MiRok to undertake a significant period-home restoration and extension to our house in Elwood. The extent of the project could not be underestimated, as it involved a heritage listed home which ideally would have been demolished. There were technical / council issues which had to be managed, and the odd surprise along the way.
Michael understood the brief perfectly and delivered us an exquisite home we have enjoyed for several years. His easy going manner and practical approach to problem solving meant we were never concerned that any issues wouldn’t be addressed. Michael was always quick to update us as to progress, and would give us plenty of notice as the next phase of the build approached. We were never left in the dark and always had complete confidence in Michael both as a builder and as a project manager.
Michael’s ability to restore the Victorian half of the original house to a breath-taking standard was only surpassed by the manner in which he delivered the 60’s twist of our rear extension and pool area. He liaised so professionally with our interior designer, town planner, all sub-contractors, and frankly the end product speaks for itself. Described as one of the best houses in Elwood, we absolutely love it, and it all came down to giving it the “MiRok touch”.
We have now commenced a new project with MiRok.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Michael to anyone who wants a quality finish from a quality craftsman.
